Pieter-Jan, one of our Master students, took the initiative with three of his friends for the formation of the iGEM team 2017.
In November, exactly one year after the start of their research project, they received the award for best New Application track on the Giant Jamboree in Boston,USA.
Inspired by the human heart rhythm, they built an electrophysiological oscillator, which they designed from eukaryotic cells. More information about the medical and biotechnological applications that could follow from this technology can be found on their iGEM page.
